PESHAWAR: WEXNET Peshawar was formally inaugurated in a prestigious ceremony, marking a significant milestone in promoting women-led entrepreneurship and export-oriented businesses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan. The event was inaugurated by the Honourable Provincial Finance Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Muzammil Aslam, who underscored the provincial government’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting inclusive economic growth.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of women entrepreneurs, senior government officials, diplomats, representatives of business chambers, development partners, and other key stakeholders. The strong participation reflected the growing national and international interest in women-led enterprises and their vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s economy.

WEXNET Peshawar showcases more than 120 women entrepreneurs from across the country, representing diverse sectors and regions. The exhibition features an impressive display of high-quality products including handicrafts, textiles, fashion apparel, jewelry, home décor, food and agro-based products, cosmetics, lifestyle accessories, and other value-added goods. Each exhibit reflects innovation, creativity, cultural heritage, and the entrepreneurial spirit of Pakistani women.

Speaking at the inauguration, Finance Minister Muzammil Aslam lauded the initiative for providing a dedicated platform to women entrepreneurs to connect with buyers, explore new markets, and scale up their businesses. He emphasized that empowering women economically is essential for sustainable development and inclusive prosperity. He further appreciated the efforts made to bring women entrepreneurs from different provinces and regions under one roof, enabling cross-learning, networking, and collaboration.

The Minister highlighted that the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains committed to creating a conducive business environment through policy support, access to finance, skills development, and facilitation measures aimed particularly at women-led small and medium enterprises. He encouraged women entrepreneurs to leverage such platforms to enhance product quality, adopt innovation, and explore export opportunities.

Women entrepreneurs participating in WEXNET Peshawar expressed confidence that the exhibition would open new avenues for market access, brand visibility, and business growth. Many exhibitors shared that the platform not only enables them to showcase their finest quality products but also helps them connect with potential buyers, investors, and partners from within Pakistan and abroad.

Diplomats and international representatives attending the event appreciated the diversity and quality of products on display and showed keen interest in exploring collaboration and trade opportunities with women-led businesses. They acknowledged the potential of Pakistani women entrepreneurs in contributing to global value chains and promoting Pakistan’s positive image internationally.
