A meeting of the Social Welfare District Coordination Council (SWDCC), representing all registered welfare organizations in Peshawar, was held yesterday. The meeting was attended by Sajad Ali Orakzai, Chairman of the Pakistan Directors, Producers, Writers & Artists Association (Registered), the province’s only registered organization affiliated with the arts; General Secretary Rasheed Ahmed Sohail Pracha; Vice Chairperson Afshin Zaman; and PRO Manzoor Khan.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on the council’s new electoral procedure, while the performance reports of outgoing executive members were also presented. Participants shared their views on the report, highlighting the successes of the previous term, challenges faced, and necessary administrative reforms.
Additionally, the meeting focused on future challenges, fostering cooperation among welfare organizations, ensuring a transparent electoral process, and strengthening effective coordination with the Social Welfare Department. Participants agreed that a strong institutional structure and a unified strategy could further expand the scope of welfare services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants expressed their commitment to adopt a future course of action under the principles of mutual cooperation, transparency, and adherence to democratic values.
