Peshawar: Advisor on Sports and Youth Affairs Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand conducted an inspection of ongoing construction work at the Peshawar Sports Complex, with particular focus on the new tartan track, which is being developed to meet international standards. The visit was aimed at reviewing progress, ensuring quality construction, and monitoring timelines for completion. DG Sports provided a detailed briefing on the work done so far, including technical specifications, safety measures, and project milestones. Social Media Specialist Umar Farooq accompanied the advisor during the visit to document and share updates on progress.
The tartan track is part of the provincial government’s ongoing efforts to enhance sports infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, providing athletes with state-of-the-art facilities for training and competitions. The advisor noted that, once completed, the track would benefit a wide range of athletes, from grassroots-level players to professionals preparing for national and international competitions.
Advisor Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand highlighted that the project reflects the provincial government’s commitment to promoting sports culture and improving athletic performance across the province. He emphasized the importance of modern sports facilities in motivating young talent and supporting the development of future champions.
The tartan track is scheduled to be inaugurated soon by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi. Officials expect that its completion will significantly strengthen the province’s sports ecosystem, encourage wider participation in athletics, and further position Peshawar Sports Complex as a hub for high-quality training and competitive events in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
