Peshawar: The trophy unveiling ceremony of the Celebrity Cricket League was held at the Governor House, Peshawar, on Thursday. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi formally unveiled the trophy in a grand ceremony attended by team captains, players, youth of the province, and participating artists of the league.
The event was also attended by Cricket League Organizer Dr. Hamza Jamshed, President Abasin Yousafzai, Sports Director of Islamia College Peshawar Ali Hoti, along with poets and artists in large numbers. During the ceremony, the Governor distributed shields among the sponsors of the league and presented cricket kits to team captains.
Cricket League Organizer Dr. Hamza Jamshed and President Abasin Yousafzai expressed gratitude to the Governor for unveiling the trophy and assured full cooperation for the successful organization of the league.
Addressing the attendees, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi said that the Celebrity Cricket League, featuring artists, journalists, and youth, is a commendable initiative that highlights the soft image of the province. He appreciated the sponsors’ role and assured full support from the Governor House to make the league a success.
He emphasized that youth engagement and women empowerment remain top priorities, noting that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has the largest youth population in the country. The Governor praised the province’s players for showcasing their skills at national and international levels and stressed the importance of providing them opportunities and support.
Highlighting a vision for the province, he expressed his determination to work collectively for peace, development, and prosperity and to restore Peshawar as a city of flowers and peace. On the occasion, Ali Hoti, Sports Director of Islamia College, presented the official bat of the cricket league to the Governor.
