PESHAWAR: Under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the closing ceremony of the Sports Festival for State Children 2026 will be held today, Saturday, January 24, at the Model Institute for Street Children Zamong Kor on Charsadda Road.

According to the Directorate of Sports, a wide range of competitions were held during the four-day festival, including cricket, football, volleyball, tug-of-war, cone races, tube races and other sports activities.

In the senior football final, SOS Children’s Village defeated Zamong Kor Peshawar 5–3 to claim the title. In the junior football final, Zamong Kor Peshawar emerged victorious against Zamong Kor DI Khan.

In individual events, Asad Gul secured first position and Muhammad Ibrahim second in the senior cone race. In the junior cone race, Razaullah clinched first position, followed by Muhammad Samid in second and Adnan in third place. In junior running races, Bilal stood first, Nasir second and Naeem third.

More than 500 children, including boys and girls from Zamong Kor Peshawar, Zamong Kor Rabatabad, Swat Campus, DI Khan Campus, Apil Kor Swat, SOS and other orphan institutions, actively participated in the festival.

The sports festival aimed at promoting healthy activities, confidence-building and positive engagement among state and orphaned children across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
