PESHAWAR: The Under-15 Inter-Regional Taekwondo Championship organized by the Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation (PGTF) has begun in Peshawar. A large number of emerging talented players from different regions of Pakistan participated in this national-level event and displayed their outstanding technical skills.
All the championship competitions were held in a very organized, transparent and high international standard, where the technique, discipline, commitment to the game and sportsman spirit of the young players impressed the audience and fans.
The chief guest of the opening ceremony was Abid Nazim of Hayatabad Sports Complex, while Lillah Fatima, Principal of The Renaissance Education System, an educational project of The City School, was also present. The distinguished guests distributed medals and prizes among the players and encouraged them.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Masood Afridi, General Secretary of Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation, said that Alhamdulillah, GTF Taekwondo is progressing rapidly in Pakistan, and God willing, very soon this sport will be promoted on a stronger basis throughout Pakistan. Our mission is to take young talent to the national and international level so that these players can make Pakistan famous on the global stage.
General Secretary Masood Afridi reiterated the commitment that Pakistan Global Taekwondo Federation will continue to provide all possible support to young players in the future and enable them to represent Pakistan at the national and international levels and make the country famous.
