ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam, strongly criticized the recent statement of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regarding terrorism in the province.

Addressing the media, Engineer Muqam noted that while it was significant that the Chief Minister admitted terrorists had entered homes, this acknowledgment came too late. “Had this realization come earlier, the situation might not have deteriorated to this extent,” he said.

He described the Chief Minister’s statement as baseless, misleading, and contrary to ground realities, calling it deeply unfortunate to politicize a grave national issue. “Making terrorism a political debate disrespects the sacrifices of martyrs and affected citizens,” he remarked.

Engineer Muqam added that the Chief Minister’s admission highlights governance failures. He questioned under whose administration terrorists entered communities and what effective actions the provincial government took.

He emphasized that law enforcement agencies and the nation have made unparalleled sacrifices in combating terrorism. He criticized the provincial government for blaming institutions to cover up its own inefficiency and demanded transparency on federal funds allocated for tribal areas.

The Federal Minister also dismissed the Chief Minister’s call for a grand jirga and Islamabad march as political theatrics, warning that using threatening language and making unsubstantiated allegations undermines national unity.

He concluded by reaffirming that Pakistan Muslim League (N) maintains a serious and responsible stance against terrorism and stands with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in every difficult time.
