PESHAWAR: A meeting was held between the Cantt Executive Officer, Cantonment Board Peshawar, Ch. Babar Hussain, the Regional Election Commissioner, and the District Election Commissioner, Peshawar, to deliberate in detail on matters relating to the delimitation of the cantonment extension area of Regi Lalma. The meeting focused on administrative, legal, and electoral considerations associated with the proposed delimitation, with particular emphasis on ensuring accuracy, transparency, and adherence to the relevant rules and regulations.
During the discussion, officials reviewed existing boundaries, population data, and electoral implications arising from the inclusion of the Regi Lalma extension area within the cantonment limits. The Regional and District Election Commissioners highlighted the importance of close coordination between the Election Commission and cantonment authorities to facilitate a smooth and lawful delimitation process, aimed at safeguarding the voting rights of residents.
Cantt Executive Officer Ch. Babar Hussain briefed the participants on the cantonment’s administrative framework and development planning for the extension area, underscoring the need for timely completion of the delimitation exercise. It was agreed that continued consultation and information-sharing among all stakeholders would be essential to address technical issues and to ensure that the delimitation process is completed efficiently and in accordance with statutory requirements.
