ISLAMABAD: In a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, called on Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad, reaffirming the commitment of both countries to expand strategic and military cooperation.
The high-level meeting underscored the growing defence partnership between Pakistan and Kazakhstan. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of existing defence cooperation and agreed to further enhance collaboration through structured and forward-looking engagement.
Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong resolve to elevate defence and security ties with Kazakhstan. He emphasized the importance of sustained high-level dialogue, expanded training exchanges, and strengthened institutional linkages between the defence establishments of the two countries.
The discussions included a comprehensive review of regional security dynamics and other issues of mutual strategic interest. Both ministers explored new avenues to broaden military-to-military cooperation, defence collaboration, and capacity-building initiatives.
Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability and conveyed Kazakhstan’s keen interest in expanding the scope of defence and military cooperation between the armed forces of the two brotherly nations.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to further deepen bilateral defence relations, grounded in the principles of mutual trust, shared interests, and strategic cooperation.
