PESHAWAR: On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, a vibrant squash tournament was successfully organized at the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) Coaching Centre, Peshawar, with the enthusiastic participation of over 150 male and female players from across the city. The event aimed to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir while providing young athletes a competitive platform to showcase their talent.

The tournament was held under the supervision of squash coach Shehzad Mohib and concluded smoothly. The closing ceremony was graced by Director PSB Coaching Centre Peshawar, Muhammad Akram Bhatti, as the chief guest. Mohibullah Khan, former international squash player, World Championship runner-up, and former Director PSB, along with coach Shehzad Mohib and other distinguished guests, were also present.

Addressing the participants, Director Muhammad Akram Bhatti said that Kashmir Solidarity Day symbolizes Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people. He stated that the Pakistan Sports Board is promoting sports while observing national and religious occasions through sporting activities to instill awareness, unity, and patriotism among youth. He added that PSB is taking effective measures to identify and nurture grassroots talent by organizing regular sports competitions.

Former Director PSB and renowned squash player Mohibullah Khan also addressed the ceremony. He appreciated PSB’s role in the development of sports in the country and emphasized that sports play a vital role in engaging youth in positive activities and strengthening national unity. He also paid tribute to the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people on Kashmir Solidarity Day.

At the conclusion of the event, prizes were distributed among players who delivered outstanding performances. The efforts of the organizers and coach Shehzad Mohib were highly appreciated. Participants expressed hope that such tournaments would continue in the future to provide more opportunities for young players to grow and excel in squash.
