PESHAWAR: Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ms. Ayesha Raza Farooq, held a meeting with Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah and Secretary Health KP Shahid Ullah at the Chief Secretary’s Office to review ongoing polio eradication efforts across the province.
The meeting reviewed the overall polio situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, progress of the current vaccination campaign, and challenges faced in hard-to-reach and previously missed areas, particularly those affected by adverse weather conditions. Participants emphasized the need to further strengthen routine immunization, enhance coordination between the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) and the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI), and build upon the gains achieved through integrated service delivery, especially in southern districts of the province.
The participants reaffirmed their collective resolve to intensify coordinated efforts and ensure the complete eradication of polio from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
