Peshawar: An important meeting was held under the Department of Culture, Tourism and Archaeology, chaired by Additional Secretary Rahimullah Khan, to review development proposals submitted by the Pakistan Directors, Producers, Writers and Artists Association eight months ago, which have now been incorporated into the Annual Development Program (ADP).

Director Culture Shah Nawaz Naveed and Deputy Director Culture Haseena Shaukat assisted the chair. The association’s delegation was led by Chairman Sajjad Ali Orakzai and included Rashid Ahmad Suhail Paracha, Ashfaq Ahmad Toro, Bushra Farah, Afshin Zaman, Tabinda Farukh, Javed Aziz Khilji, Umar Hayat, Manzoor Khan, Ahmad Bukhari, Amjad Hadi Yousafzai and Noor Rahman.

The meeting featured detailed deliberations on the professional challenges faced by fine arts practitioners, including welfare concerns, administrative and financial bottlenecks, limited government patronage, and the need to expand creative platforms. Procedural mechanisms and departmental pathways for executing the approved proposals were also examined.

Deputy Director Culture Haseena Shaukat formally confirmed that the proposals had been incorporated into the ADP. Appreciating the practicality and relevance of the recommendations, Additional Secretary Rahimullah Khan directed the Director Culture to expedite implementation so that stakeholders in the arts and culture sector may begin receiving tangible benefits without further delay.
