ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Housing & Works, Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada, accompanied by Secretary Housing & Works Capt. (R) Muhammad Mahmood and Director General, Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), Capt. (R) Zafar Iqbal, visited the Margalla Orchard Housing Scheme on February 17, 2026. The dignitaries were warmly received by senior officials of the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) and the Housing Authority.
Director Land, Mr. Saad Bin Asad, briefed the participants on the project, stating that the layout plan was approved on August 4, 2022. The balloting and allotment letter issuance ceremony was held on September 14, 2022, with the Prime Minister of Pakistan as chief guest. Allotment letters have been issued to Federal Government employees and members of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. The scheme comprises 4,611 plots under two categories.
In its 43rd Executive Board meeting, the FGEHA approved the tripartite development agreement for the project, a joint venture of FGEHA, DHA, and the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan. The agreement was formally signed on September 26, 2025, and verified by the Ministry of Law and Justice. DHA has taken possession of the project and initiated development work.
The Federal Minister termed the project a significant step toward providing quality residential facilities to Federal Government employees and members of the legal fraternity. He directed that all issues related to the project be resolved on a priority basis and emphasized timely completion of ongoing and pending works.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, he stated that FGEHA is expediting development activities to ensure early possession for allottees. He appreciated the performance of the Director General and senior officials, stressing close coordination with DHA for the project’s early completion.
