Mr. Frederico Silva, Portuguese Ambassador, and Speaker N.A Sardar Ayaz Sadiq
Islamabad – H.E. Mr. Frederico Silva, the Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, paid a courtesy call on Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, at the Parliament House in Islamabad on 26 February 2026.
The meeting served as a comprehensive review of the existing bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Portuguese Republic. During the discussions, both dignitaries focused on identifying and exploring new avenues for mutual cooperation, particularly in sectors of shared interest. The dialogue underscored the commitment of both nations to strengthen their partnership on the global stage.
A significant portion of the talks was dedicated to examining the current state of inter-parliamentary relations. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a cornerstone of the broader bilateral framework, agreeing that enhanced engagement between legislators is vital for fostering long-term, comprehensive ties.
Ambassador Frederico Silva formally conveyed his farewell compliments to the Speaker, marking the conclusion of his diplomatic tenure in Pakistan. He expressed his gratitude for the cooperation extended to him during his mission and reiterated his optimism regarding the future trajectory of Pakistan-Portugal relations.
In response, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq appreciated the Ambassador’s efforts in consolidating bilateral ties and wished him success in his future endeavors.
