​SHANGLA: In a heart-wrenching incident in the remote area of Achar, Lilownai, three members of the same family lost their lives after lightning struck their home. The sudden tragedy has left the entire locality in a state of shock and mourning.
​The Incident
​According to local sources, the incident occurred during a period of intense thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in Achar yesterday. A powerful bolt of lightning struck the residence of a local man named Yar Muhammad. The intensity of the strike was so severe that the family members inside had no chance to escape or seek safety.
​Casualties
​The catastrophic strike resulted in the immediate deaths of:
​Yar Muhammad (Head of the family)
​His Wife
​Their young son
​Rescue workers and local residents rushed to the scene to initiate relief efforts on a self-help basis, but unfortunately, all three individuals had already succumbed to the intensity of the electric discharge.
​Atmosphere of Grief
​As news of the tragedy spread, a large number of residents gathered at Yar Muhammad’s residence to offer condolences. The sight of three coffins being carried from a single household left every bystander in tears. Local elders have termed the incident a “monumental tragedy” for the region and expressed deep sorrow for the surviving relatives.
​Demand for Government Assistance
​Residents and social activists have urged the provincial government and the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to provide immediate financial compensation to the bereaved family. They also called for better safety measures and awareness in remote, mountainous areas to mitigate the risks posed by such natural disasters.
