MARDAN: In a significant academic development, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—acting in his capacity as Chancellor of the University of Engineering & Technology (UET), Mardan—has appointed Prof. Dr. Sadaqat Jan as the new Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Computing.
The appointment, made under the powers granted by Section 12B(2) of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universities (Amendment) Act, 2024, will be effective from July 18, 2025, for a tenure of three years.
Prof. Dr. Sadaqat Jan, a distinguished academic from the Department of Computer Software Engineering, brings a strong background in research, innovation, and academic leadership. His appointment is expected to usher in a new era of progress and excellence within the faculty.
University officials and academic peers have warmly welcomed the decision, calling it a timely move that will contribute to the institutional growth and academic integrity of UET Mardan.
This appointment aligns with the provincial government’s broader vision to enhance higher education through competent leadership and sustainable reforms across universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
