Bajaur : The district administration launched a major crackdown ahead of Eid against profiteering, poor hygiene, and illegal activities by conducting a joint operation in Khar Bazaar. The action was carried out on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur by Additional Assistant Commissioner Nawagai Arshad Kamal, AAC Khar Muhammad Nisar, Tehsildar Habib-ur-Rehman, officials of the Agriculture Department, DSP, and local police.
During the operation, various shops were inspected. Shopkeepers were issued strict warnings for not displaying official price lists and for violating notified rates. Bakery kitchens were specially checked, where one kitchen was sealed due to poor hygiene, while others were fined and directed to improve conditions.
The administration also strictly enforced the ban on firecrackers under Section 144. Shopkeepers were warned that any violation would lead to sealing of shops and confiscation of goods.
Meanwhile, on the recommendation of the Agriculture Department, all fertilizer shops in Khar Bazaar were sealed until further orders. Officials stated that the move aims to prevent hoarding and ensure fair distribution of fertilizers.
Barber shops were also inspected, and owners were warned against overcharging customers during the Eid season.
The district administration stated that such actions will continue to ensure price stability, maintain hygiene standards, and safeguard public interest.
