DERA ISMAIL KHAN: On the directives of Commissioner Dawood Khan, Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Shaukat Iqbal visited various bus stations to review arrangements for Eid al-Fitr, with special focus on passenger facilitation and enforcement of official fare regulations.

According to details, Commissioner Dawood Khan met Secretary RTA in his office, where Assistant to the Commissioner (Political & Development) Sajjad Baloch was also present. During the meeting, the Commissioner issued important instructions to improve the public transport system and prevent overcrowding during the Eid rush.

He specifically directed strict action against illegal rickshaws, underage drivers, unregistered vehicles, and rickshaws operating from other districts. He emphasized controlling the routes of “Chingchi” rickshaws and ensuring compliance with the government-approved fare list.

Following the instructions, the Secretary RTA conducted visits to different bus terminals in the city, inspecting fare implementation, waiting areas, and passenger facilities. Transport operators and rickshaw owners were instructed not to charge extra fares and to provide maximum convenience to passengers.

Shaukat Iqbal stated that citizen safety and facilitation remain the top priority, adding that all necessary arrangements will be ensured to provide comfortable and secure travel during Eid.

The Commissioner reiterated that improved planning and monitoring of public transport will help maintain order in the city and ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers during the festive season.
