NEW YORK: The Consulate General of Pakistan in New York commemorated Pakistan Day with a dignified flag hoisting ceremony held at its premises.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Consul General Mr. Aamer Ahmed Atozai, in the presence of officers and staff.
Messages from the President, the Prime Minister, and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out, highlighting the historic significance of Pakistan Day. The messages paid tribute to the vision and leadership of the founding fathers and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to unity, resilience, and progress amid contemporary challenges.
In his remarks, the Consul General underscored the enduring relevance of the Lahore Resolution and the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He emphasized the need for economic strength, national cohesion, and collective efforts to ensure a stable and prosperous future.
He also appreciated the contributions of the Pakistani-American community in strengthening Pakistan’s image and fostering closer ties between Pakistan and the United States.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the ideals that led to the creation of Pakistan and to work collectively for its continued progress and prosperity.
