PESHAWAR: A meeting of the cabinet of Niaz Adabi Sangar Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a representative provincial literary organization named after renowned scholar Professor Jahanzeb Niaz, was held at Niaz House, DHA Peshawar. The session was chaired by Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed, while Fareedun Khan conducted proceedings as moderator.
Patron of the Sangar, Dr. Kazim Niaz, joined the meeting online from Washington. Other participants included Chairman Professor Aseer Mangal, Dr. Alam Yousafzai, Abdul Sattar Khan, Zubair Khan, Jamshed Ali Khan, Hameed-ur-Rehman Nadaan, Sadiq Amanzai, Qaiser Ali Shah Qaiser Kakakhel, Shamal Niaz, and Amjad Ali Khadim.
The meeting reviewed the literary event “Rangarang Mazigaray,” held on February 6, 2026, at Dabgari Bazaar, Shah Qabool, Peshawar, in honor of Noor-ul-Bashar Naveed. The program was declared a successful addition to the Sangar’s ongoing literary activities.
Participants also held detailed discussions on organizing a prestigious literary event in honor of distinguished poet, writer, and researcher Dr. Salma Shaheen. Various committees were formed, and it was decided that preparations would be completed soon, with the final date to be announced once international conditions become favorable.
At the conclusion, Dr. Kazim Niaz highlighted Dr. Salma Shaheen’s contributions to Pashto language, literature, and culture, particularly her role as former Director of the Pashto Academy, University of Peshawar. He reaffirmed that the Sangar will continue its tradition of organizing high-quality literary events by hosting a dignified program in her honor.
