ISLAMABAD: Rukhsana Afzaal warmly received a delegation of Thai monks at the Embassy of Pakistan, where she highlighted Pakistan’s rich and historic Buddhist heritage.
During the visit, the ambassador briefed the monks on the country’s ancient Buddhist sites and cultural legacy, emphasizing Pakistan’s significance as a center of Gandhara civilization. On the occasion, she also presented a book on Pakistan’s Buddhist trail authored by the renowned Thai monk Phra Anil Sakya to the guests.
The event reflected Pakistan’s ongoing public diplomacy efforts to promote religious tourism and cultural ties. The initiative was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pakistan, particularly the Office of the Spokesperson in Islamabad.
