ISLAMABAD: In a significant gesture of cultural diplomacy and bilateral friendship, Romania presented the official album and written score of the first-ever professional choral arrangement of Pakistan’s national anthem, Qaumi Tarana, to Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

The unique artistic project was performed by Romania’s National Chamber Choir “Madrigal – Marin Constantin” with the support of the Embassy of Romania in Islamabad. The composition transforms the original orchestral anthem into a sophisticated polyphonic choral work for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, while preserving its solemn spirit and national essence.

The album and score symbolize more than a musical achievement, reflecting deep respect for Pakistan’s national identity and a shared commitment to cultural dialogue. The initiative highlights Romania’s contribution to celebrating Pakistan’s heritage through a universal artistic language that blends Eastern musical richness with Western harmonic depth.

During the meeting, both sides also held detailed discussions on enhancing Romania-Pakistan bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and expanding economic ties. Regional developments, including the situation in the Middle East, were also discussed, with a shared emphasis on the importance of dialogue and stability.

The Romanian side expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and appreciation extended by Chairman Gilani, noting that such exchanges reinforce strong bilateral ties and underscore the role of culture in bringing nations closer together.
