Bajaur: The district administration in Bajaur has launched a comprehensive and well-coordinated campaign to eliminate illegal poppy cultivation, with large-scale operations underway across various tehsils. On the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, Shahid Ali Khan, Tehsildar Utman Khel, Muhammad Fayaz Khan, along with police personnel and local elders including Malik Fazal Rabi (Baro) and Malik Burhanuddin (Gatkai), carried out an operation in the Gatkai area of Tehsil Salarzai, where poppy crops were uprooted and destroyed.
Meanwhile, in Tehsil Barang, the administration also remained active. Additional Assistant Commissioner Khar-1, Muhammad Nisar, Additional Assistant Commissioner Nawagai, Arshad Kamal, Tehsildar Barang, Anwar Hussain, along with police officials and local elders, conducted operations in Kohi Barang, Mordara, Matta, and Memol areas, successfully eliminating poppy cultivation.

The administration stated that this campaign is not temporary but will continue on a sustained basis to rid the region of the menace of drugs and to protect the younger generation from its devastating effects. Local elders appreciated the initiative and assured full cooperation with the authorities, while officials reiterated that strict action will be taken against violators without discrimination.
