Dera Ismail Khan: A detailed review meeting on polio eradication and routine immunization campaigns in Dera Division was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Dera Division, Dawood Khan.

The meeting was attended by Assistant to Commissioner (Planning and Development) Sajjad Baloch and World Health Organization (WHO) Team Lead Dr. Khalid Abdul Rahim, along with other relevant officials.

Commissioner Dawood Khan Khan highlighted that polio is a deadly disease and emphasized that it is the national responsibility of parents to ensure that children under the age of five receive polio drops to stay protected. He stated that the divisional administration has taken comprehensive administrative measures with effective coordination to prevent polio across the region.

On the occasion, Dr. Khalid Abdul Rahim expressed satisfaction over Dera Division remaining completely polio-free during the first quarter of 2026. He attributed this achievement to strong coordination between technical teams and local administration, along with an effective strategy.

He further noted that due to close collaboration among all concerned departments, vaccination targets were achieved with remarkable accuracy and success, calling it a commendable development.

The WHO representative also extended special thanks to deputy commissioners and security forces for their full support in ensuring a safe and organized environment, which enabled field teams and frontline workers to perform their duties efficiently across all areas.

He stressed that such coordinated efforts are essential for the complete eradication of the polio virus.

At the conclusion of the meeting, all participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue working with the same dedication, hard work, and teamwork to keep Dera Division polio-free and protect the public from this dangerous disease.
