Dera Ismail Khan: Following the recent reduction in diesel prices, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a strict crackdown on overcharging in District Tank on the directives of Secretary RTA Dera, Shaukat Iqbal.

RTA monitoring teams have started comprehensive inspections at all bus stands and across various routes. Passengers inside vehicles are also being interviewed to verify whether transporters are complying with the newly reduced fares.

According to the Secretary RTA, revised fare lists for all routes have been officially issued and communicated to transporters. He emphasized that no transporter will be allowed to charge even a single rupee above the fixed fare.

The public has been urged to immediately report any instance of overcharging to the RTA monitoring teams present on-site or directly contact the Secretary RTA at 0322-0970909.

Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against violators, including sealing of transport stands if necessary.
