PESHAWAR: A quiet agricultural transformation is taking shape in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as SABAWON, in collaboration with the University of Agriculture Peshawar (UAP), promotes bio nutrient enriched and climate-resilient seeds to strengthen food and feed systems.

The initiative focuses on improving wheat, vegetables, and fodder through scientifically backed seed varieties enriched with essential nutrients like zinc and iron. By establishing community seed banks and farmer-led seed producer groups, the program ensures affordable and reliable access to quality seeds.

This integrated approach is enhancing nutrition, boosting livestock productivity, and increasing farmers’ resilience to climate challenges, offering a sustainable and scalable model for Pakistan’s agriculture sector.
