SWABI: The week-long Sports Week of Women University Swabi concluded successfully after featuring a wide range of academic, cultural, literary, and sports activities. The event was organized with the collaboration of the District Administration Swabi and the District Sports Office, and was appreciated as a vibrant platform for student engagement, talent promotion, and personality development.
The concluding ceremony and final sports competitions were held at Baamkhail Sports Complex, Swabi, where Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Deputy Commissioner Swabi Dr. Tariq Ullah, Assistant Commissioner Swabi Aleena Shakil Nagra, Additional Assistant Commissioner-II Nusrat Bibi, university officials, faculty members, and students were present.
During the Sports Week, students actively participated in a variety of events including cricket, volleyball, table tennis, tug of war, drama, debate, calligraphy, painting, mehndi competition, naat, qirat, quiz, national songs, Business Gala, Book Fair, and food stalls. The activities highlighted the multiple talents of students and provided them with opportunities to express themselves in both academic and extracurricular fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen said that such healthy and creative activities play an important role in the grooming, confidence-building, and personality development of students. She said that the students of Women University Swabi had demonstrated talent beyond expectations in various fields, proving their capabilities not only in academics but also in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
She said that under the demanding routine of the semester system, a one-week break dedicated to such activities gives students a valuable chance to refresh themselves and polish their abilities. Highlighting the importance of the Business Gala, she remarked that entrepreneurship has become increasingly important in the present global situation, and the university is committed to providing students with practical opportunities to develop business understanding and leadership skills.
The Vice Chancellor also appreciated the efforts of the district administration, District Sports Office, and the university faculty for their cooperation and support in making the Sports Week a success.
The Business Gala and Book Fair remained among the major attractions of the event, while cultural activities such as drama, calligraphy, painting, mehndi, naat, qirat, debate, quiz, and national songs received strong participation from students and faculty alike.
On the concluding day, Secretary Chamber of Commerce Swabi Salman Ahmad, DYNAA representative Danial, and other distinguished guests also attended the ceremony. At the end of the event, Professor Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen distributed certificates among the participants and praised the students for their excellent performance throughout the week.
