Sports activities crucial for preventing youth from social evils
Calls for opportunities for youth and players to utilize their abilities in a befitting manner
Govt lauded for proactive initiatives in promoting sports and healthy activities

PESHAWAR: President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Junaid Altaf stated that the talented youth of Pakistan youth, especially sportsmen have played a crucial role in building and promoting the soft image of the country, so they must be facilitated.
Speaking to a group of former legendary players and Olympians headed by Legend Hockey Player Samiullah, and President of Pakistan Sports Federation Amjad Aziz Malik, who recently elected as lifetime honorary member of International Sports Press Association called the sportsmen as the real ambassador of the country, and highlighted the crucial importance of sports in youth development.
Sport plays a fundamental role in the development of children, promoting not only physical well-being but also psychological, social, and emotional health, President Junaid Altaf said.
On the occasion, SCCI vice president Sabir Ahmad Bangash, former president Fazal Moqeem Khan, former senior vice president Abdul Jalil Jan, and the chamber’s executive committee members Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, Gul Zaman and Ishfaq Ahmad, and Rashid Iqbal Siddiqui, Saddar Gul, Fazl e Wahid, Ishtiaq Muhammad, and Faiz Muhammad, the chamber’s secretary general Muqtasid Ahsan and others were present.
SCCI chief emphasized Sports activities are imperative for uniform forces, which will not only provide them entertainment, but also help them to be physically fit- a requirement of their challenging job, essentially preventing the youth from social evils.
He lauded the role of incumbent government and relevant authorities for proactive initiatives for promotion of sports and healthy activities in the country.
President Junaid Altaf suggested launching of special sports events and programs and creating more opportunities for youth/sportsmen to play their role in building a soft image of Pakistan in the rest of the world.
SCCI chief assured to extend every support in promotion of the sports activities. He commended the efforts of the President of Pakistan Sports Federation Amjad Aziz Malik for his concerted efforts for promotion of sports activities and building a soft image of the country around the globe.
President Junaid Altaf also congratulated Amjad Aziz Malik for being elected honorary member of the International Sports Press Association.
