PESHAWAR: A dignified ceremony was held under the auspices of the Zakat and Ushr Department, with MNA Arbab Sher Ali as the chief guest, where financial assistance cheques for dowry support were distributed among deserving girls.
The event was attended by Senator Rubina Naz, MNAs Shandana Gulzar and Muhammad Asif, MPA Qasim Ali Shah, Provincial Chairman Zakat Committee Imtiaz Khan, and District Chairman Peshawar Zahir Khan.
During the ceremony, Senator Rubina Naz personally distributed the cheques among the deserving girls. Addressing the gathering, she said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government aims to support underprivileged families financially and to ease the burden on families during the important occasion of marriage. She further stated while speaking to media representatives that ensuring transparent delivery of Zakat and Ushr funds to deserving individuals is a top priority of the government.
Other distinguished guests also shared their views, stating that such welfare initiatives promote harmony and brotherhood in society and provide relief to deserving individuals. They reaffirmed their commitment that such events would continue in the future so that more deserving families could benefit.
At the end of the ceremony, the deserving girls and their families expressed gratitude to the government and the Zakat and Ushr Department, appreciating the initiative.
