Dera Ismail Khan: Deputy Provincial General Secretary of Private Education Network (PAN) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Muhammad Arsalan Saduzai, has presented key recommendations to address challenges in the province’s education system, emphasizing the urgent need to ensure continuity in learning and improve students’ academic performance.
He stated that the current schedule of two weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday significantly reduces academic days, hindering timely completion of the curriculum and affecting students’ learning capacity. He urged the government to eliminate the Saturday holiday to make educational activities more effective and ensure uninterrupted academic progress.
Sardar Arsalan Saduzai further highlighted that extended summer vacations in the plains lead to considerable educational losses. He proposed limiting summer holidays to two months, from June 15 to August 15, to allow better continuity of academic activities and timely course completion.
He also stressed the importance of timely directives from the Private School Regulatory Authority regarding summer camps. This, he said, would enable private institutions to plan ahead and engage students in constructive, creative, and educational activities. He noted that summer camps play a vital role in skill development, confidence building, and promoting co-curricular engagement.
Emphasizing the need for practical policymaking, he said that ground realities must be considered while formulating education policies. He added that timely and well-informed decisions can significantly enhance the quality of education and secure a brighter future for coming generations.
He concluded by urging the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to seriously consider these proposals and take immediate steps to strengthen, streamline, and improve the province’s education system.
