MARDAN:Commissioner Mardan Directs Installation of Awareness Boards Outside Revenue Offices
Handout – Mardan
Commissioner Mardan Division, Nisar Ahmad has directed the installation of awareness boards outside revenue offices to inform the public about the recent reductions in various property-related taxes announced in the federal and provincial budgets. The aim is to expedite the land transfer process and enhance government revenue.
He issued these instructions while addressing the monthly Revenue Performance Review Meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office Conference Room. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Swabi Nasrullah Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioners Islahuddin (Swabi) and Eid Nawaz (Mardan), Secretary to Commissioner Fazal Wahid, Assistant Commissioners, AACs, and other concerned officials.
The meeting reviewed the collection of stamp duty, land transfers, and other government levies. Commissioner Nisar Ahmad also stressed the need for the early resolution of pending cases in revenue courts and directed the provision of maximum facilitation to the public in revenue offices.
In light of recent drowning incidents in canals and streams, the Commissioner instructed the Deputy Commissioners of both districts to implement preventive measures and raise public awareness to protect precious human lives.
He also stressed the need to expedite the process of converting “Khana Kasht” to “Khana Malkiat” (cultivation records to ownership records) and called for the development of a mechanism to ensure effective collection of the recently introduced agricultural income tax.
