PESHAWAR:The Bank of Khyber has taken a significant step towards promoting financial inclusion and empowering women in the region with the launch of its second women-centric branch at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) Peshawar in collaborationwith the TreasurySection of the university. This initiative is designed to provide specialized financial services to the staff and students of the university, fostering economic growth and development.

Mr. Abdullah Ghaffar, Group Head Islamic Banking while speaking to the audience said that the branch offers a range of innovative products and services, including the ‘Fempower Account’ for females and the ‘Student Power Account’ for students. These accounts are tailored to meet the unique needs of women and students, providing them with easy access to banking services and financial management tools. Additionally, the branch will offer loan facilities to support the educational and personal needs of students and staff.

The branch will also provide internship opportunities for students, enabling them to gain practical experience and develop valuable skills in the banking sector. Furthermore, the bank will offer personal finance facilities to staff at special rates through Islamic banking.

Prof. Dr. Safia Ahmed (T.I), Vice Chancellor, while expressing her thoughts, said that the launch of this branch is a testament to Bank of Khyber’s commitment to supporting the financial inclusion and empowerment of women and students. The provision of specialized financial services and opportunities to SBBWUP will promote financial literacy among women and young people.

The management of Bank Ms. Sana Younas, Treasurer SBBWU, expressed the commitment to working together to promote financial inclusion and empowerment of women in the university. This partnership is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of women and students, enabling them to achieve their financial goals and aspirations.
