PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s emerging squash player Fawad Khan delivered an impressive performance in the National Junior Squash Championship 2026, securing the runner-up position after a remarkable campaign.

Ranked 12th nationally, Fawad Khan displayed exceptional form throughout the tournament. He began his journey with a convincing 3-0 victory over Haseeb in the opening round and continued his winning streak by defeating Punjab’s Muhammad Bin Atif 3-0 in the second round.

In the quarter-finals, Fawad outclassed Abbas of Abbottabad with another straight-set 3-0 victory to book his place in the semi-finals. There, he faced top-seeded Army player Faizan Ali in a thrilling encounter and emerged victorious with a hard-fought 3-2 win, securing a place in the final.

In the championship match, Fawad Khan put up a spirited fight against Danish but eventually lost 3-1, earning the runner-up trophy and widespread appreciation for his outstanding performance.

Special tribute was paid to his coach Tahir Iqbal, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports Advisor, his father, and the Markhor Foundation for their continuous support and encouragement, which contributed significantly to his success.

Sports circles have highly praised Fawad Khan’s achievements and expressed confidence that the talented youngster will continue to excel and bring further honors to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan at both national and international levels.
