PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Tariq Saeed Marwat, has termed the reports circulating on social media and in certain quarters regarding the alleged abduction of Member of the Provincial Assembly Asif Khan Mehsud as baseless, fabricated and contrary to the facts, stating that there is no truth whatsoever in these claims.
He clarified that Asif Khan Mehsud is presently at his native village, at his hujra, and is completely safe and in good health.
The Special Assistant urged the public not to believe rumours and unverified information circulating on social media and appealed to citizens to act responsibly by refraining from sharing unconfirmed reports.
Tariq Saeed Marwat said that strict legal action, in accordance with the law, would be taken against individuals involved in spreading false propaganda aimed at creating panic and anxiety among the public. He further stated that a report has been sought from the relevant authorities to ascertain the facts and ensure appropriate action.
