Karachi: District West Police safely recovered a two year old boy who was abducted from private housing society within the limits of Manghopir Police Station, following a coordinated operation that relied on CCTV footage, technical surveillance, ground intelligence and close cooperation with the child’s family.

According to the officials, Azan was allegedly abducted two days ago by a motorcycle riding suspect. Soon after the incident was reported, police launched an extensive investigation, collecting CCTV footage from the crime scene, analysing technical evidence and gathered through ground sources. Police officials said investigators also worked closely with the child’s family after they began receiving ransom calls or messages demanding more than 5 million technical analysis of the phone numbers revealed that the calls were originating from areas near Gharo.

SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi said the investigation began immediately after the case was registered and every available resource was mobilised to locate the child. “As soon as the case was reported, our teams started working. After the family received ransom calls, we began tracing the numbers and found that they were linked to areas near Gharo-Thatta district. We dispatched teams and our top priority remained the child’s safe recovery”. Further he confirmed that the child was recovered safely without any ransom being paid. He added efforts are underway to arrest all suspects involved in the kidnapping.

IGP Sindh commended SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi, the SDPO, the SHO of Manghopir and the entire team for their professional handling and the safe recovery of the child. He also directed to conduct a comprehensive investigation and ordered the immediate arrest of all individuals involved in the kidnapping.
