Peshawar / Baragali — The 2nd CHRCD International Conference on “Education at Nexus: Empowering Minds for an Interdisciplinary Future,” organized by the Centre for Human Resource and Career Development (CHRCD), University of Peshawar, concluded on July 22, 2026, at the scenic Baragali Summer Campus after four days of academic deliberation.
The conference was organized under the leadership of Dr. Muhammad Naeem Butt, Director CHRCD and Chief Organizer of the conference, whose welcome address at the inaugural session set the tone for the four days of academic engagement.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. Dr. Johar Ali, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, as chief guest, who applauded the efforts of the organizing committee and Dr. Muhammad Naeem Butt, Director CHRCD, for bringing together scholars from across the country and abroad under one platform.
Day 2 opened with a keynote session by Prof. Dr. Nasir Jamal Khattak, Vice Chancellor, University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, followed by a series of parallel sessions in which researchers from across Pakistan and the United Kingdom presented their work on themes ranging from digital technologies and AI in education to higher education policy, governance, and teacher training.
On Day 3, Dr. Niamat Ullah Khan of Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK, delivered a keynote on climate-related sustainability in higher education, while parallel sessions explored themes of language and postcolonial studies, mental health and wellbeing, and inclusive education for diverse learners.
The concluding day featured a keynote by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Irfan, President of the World Psychiatric Association, on mental health and psychological wellbeing, alongside panel discussions on community-based learning and women’s empowerment.
The conference was further honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Aurangzeb, Vice Chancellor, University of Lakki Marwat; Dr. Humaira Mumtaz, CEO/Founder of Empoweri SMC (Pvt) Ltd., Islamabad; and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shafiq of Tashkent State University of Economics, Uzbekistan, who attended as guests of honour.
Spanning four days of parallel sessions, keynotes, and panel discussions, the conference brought together researchers and academics to deliberate on emerging themes in education, technology, mental health, and inclusive development.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Naeem Butt, Director CHRCD and Chief Organizer, presented the conference recommendations, summarizing the key outcomes of the four-day proceedings and thanking the participants, guests, and organizing team for the event’s success, before the conference concluded with certificate distribution and an MOU signing at Baragali.
