PESHAWAR: The ITF Taekwondo team of Hayatabad Sports Complex claimed the overall championship title at the 6th Peshawar Open Taekwondo Championship after delivering an outstanding performance against six participating teams.
The Hayatabad team won a total of 27 medals, including 10 gold, 13 silver and four bronze medals across male, female, junior, senior and cadet categories.
Gold medal winners included Roshni Azia, Mina Kakar, Areeba Noor, Hurraim-e-Jannat, Maheen Khan, Ijma Ihsan, Dina Amarkhil, Azan Khan, Muhammad Hazim, Abid Seerat and Zarak Amir.
Chairman of the KP ITF Association and team coach Naveed Habibi congratulated the players on their remarkable achievement, praising their dedication, discipline and hard work. He said the success reflected the team’s commitment and ongoing efforts to promote Taekwondo at the grassroots level.
According to the final standings, Hayatabad Sports Complex ITF Team secured first place, Bannu Team finished second, while Qayyum Stadium Team, Peshawar, claimed third position.
The championship provided an excellent platform for young and emerging Taekwondo athletes to showcase their talent and gain valuable competitive experience.
