PESHAWAR: The All Balmik Hindu Community Khyber Pakhtunkhwa unanimously elected Haroon Sarab Diyal as its Provincial President during a provincial consultative session attended by representatives from across the province.
The gathering brought together community elders, Sarpanchs, presidents of Balmik Sabhas, religious scholars, lawyers, social workers, teachers, business leaders, youth representatives, and other stakeholders to discuss issues relating to minority rights, legal protection, education, and community welfare.
Following his election, Haroon Sarab Diyal said he would work for the protection of minority rights through dialogue, legal reforms, and community engagement. He announced a province-wide outreach campaign and the formation of a provincial cabinet, with priorities including youth and women empowerment, legal documentation, policy advocacy, and the promotion of interfaith harmony.
During the ceremony, the newly elected president was honoured with a traditional Tilak, floral garlands, and a Pashtun Pagri by community leaders. Prayers were also offered for peace, equality, and national harmony.
The community urged the provincial and federal governments to strengthen constitutional protections for minorities and called on human rights organizations and civil society to support efforts aimed at ensuring equal rights, social inclusion, and sustainable development for vulnerable communities in Pakistan.
