MARDAN : Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan has achieved another notable academic distinction as Dr. Shukria Qadir, Assistant Professor in the Department of Pashto, has successfully completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad.

The title of her postdoctoral research was “A Comparative Study of the Common Idioms in Pashto, Urdu, Persian, and Punjabi.” The study is regarded as a significant contribution to the fields of linguistics and comparative language studies, highlighting the shared cultural, literary, and linguistic heritage of these languages.

This achievement is of historic significance as Dr. Shukria Qadir has become the first female Pashto researcher to successfully complete a postdoctoral fellowship. Her accomplishment is considered a major milestone in promoting Pashto research and strengthening women’s representation in higher education and academic scholarship.
