PROVINCE REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held a live e-Kachehri at BISP Headquarters, where she directly listened to complaints and concerns of beneficiary women and directed officials to resolve all issues promptly and submit reports.

Senator Rubina Khalid said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have full confidence in the transparent performance of BISP. She emphasized that the programme serves deserving families without discrimination and criticized attempts to drag the institution into political controversies.

She warned that false propaganda and baseless allegations against BISP are unacceptable and may invite legal action. Referring to a World Bank study, she said BISP has positively impacted both beneficiary families and the local economy.

The Chairperson also announced that under the new digital payment system, beneficiaries will be able to receive their payments from authorized partner bank agents in any city. She urged women to collect their free Benazir SIM cards from the nearest BISP office, advised them not to hand over their mobile phones to agents, and encouraged them to immediately report any deduction in payments. She reiterated that all BISP services and financial assistance are provided free of cost and advised beneficiaries to contact the BISP helpline (0800-26477) or their nearest BISP office for guidance and complaints.
