The protesters carried Jamaat-e-Islami flags and displayed large banners at the protest site. Addressing the gathering, speakers said government charges and the petroleum levy were contributing to rising prices and increasing the burden on ordinary citizens.

They said the poor were facing severe difficulties due to inflation and alleged that the government had failed to provide meaningful relief to the public.

The speakers said Jamaat-e-Islami stood with the people and demanded an immediate reduction in petroleum prices and the withdrawal of the petroleum levy to control inflation and provide relief to citizens.
