ABBOTTABAD : The first literary conference and prestigious awards ceremony organized by Pasban Bazm-e-Qalam Pakistan was held at the Press Club Abbottabad yesterday. A large number of authors, writers, poets and literature enthusiasts associated with various fields of literature from across the country attended the event.

The program was organized by Pasban Bazm-e-Qalam Pakistan Chairman Mudassar Subhani Cheema and Hafiz Malik Jamshed Khaksar. The proceedings were conducted by Radio Pakistan Abbottabad broadcaster Dr. Qamar Zaman and Faizan Ayub Hashmi.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Anas Abbasi. Abdullah and renowned Radio Pakistan and PTV Naat reciter Nasir Fareed then presented devotional poetry in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere at the gathering.

On the occasion, Pasban Bazm-e-Qalam Chairman Mudassar Subhani Cheema introduced the organization and highlighted its aims and objectives. He also spoke about the responsibilities of writers and the important role they are expected to play in society.

During the first session of the conference, Dr. Adil Saeed Qureshi, Dr. Tahseen Bibi, Professor Nasir Dawood and Sahibzada Jawad-ul-Faizi presented their respective research papers. The speakers discussed the social significance of literature, the responsibilities of writers and various aspects of promoting literary activities in the contemporary era.

The chief guest, Haji Naeem, appreciated the contributions of writers, authors and literary figures, emphasizing that writers play an important role in shaping the intellectual and cultural character of society. He also stressed the need to promote literary activities and encourage the younger generation to develop an interest in literature.

The second session of the ceremony consisted of the distribution of awards. Authors from different parts of the country were recognized for their literary services and the publication of their books with the Pride of Pakistan, Pride of Hazara and Allama Iqbal Awards.

Karwan-e-Hawa Literary Forum Peshawar and its Hazara Chapter received a total of five awards. Faiza Shehzad debut book “Main Boloon Ke Na Boloon”, Tabinda Farukh’s third travelogue “Hisar-e-Ishq”, and Maryam Khan’s debut book “Raakh Se Uthi Aurat” were presented with the Pride of Pakistan Award.

Similarly, Samia Zaib’s book “Khwab-e-Rang” and Azra Andaleeb were presented with the Pride of Hazara Award in recognition of their literary contributions.

A large number of prominent personalities from different walks of life, along with writers, authors, poets and literature enthusiasts, attended the ceremony. Participants appreciated Pasban Bazm-e-Qalam Pakistan for organizing the event to recognize literary contributions and encourage writers and authors.

At the conclusion of the conference, the organizers hosted a luncheon for the guests and participants. The event left a positive and memorable impression by providing a platform for literary figures from across the country and contributing to the promotion of literary activities in Abbottabad.
