TANK: The 79th Independence Day was celebrated across Tank with patriotic zeal, featuring flag-hoisting ceremonies, tree plantation, rallies, Quran Khwani, national songs, sports and other colourful events.
The main ceremony was held at the DC Office Tank and attended by Deputy Commissioner Jamshid Khan, DPO Abdul Samad Khan, government officials, students, journalists and citizens. The ceremony included flag hoisting, cake cutting and speeches highlighting the significance of Independence Day.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies were also held at Government High School No. 1, PA Compound and other locations. At Bab-e-Tank, Sector Commander SHS, Deputy Commissioner Jamshid Khan and DPO Abdul Samad Khan planted saplings as part of the plantation campaign.
Special programmes were organised at Sector Headquarters South, Qila Nawab, Christian Hospital and Daulat Khan Korona Hospital. A volleyball match and Independence Day rally were also held.
Quran Khwani was organised at Peer Saleem Shah Mosque, where prayers were offered for Pakistan’s security, peace, stability and prosperity.
The celebrations concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to national unity, development and the progress of Pakistan.
