PESHAWAR : Following consultations with the Central Executive Council of the Creative Art Association (Registered) and with the approval of Chairman Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai, Central General Secretary Ahmad Nawaz has announced a new administrative team for the reorganization of the association’s Department of Literature and Research.
Central General Secretary Ahmad Nawaz said that the primary objective of the Creative Art Association (Registered) is to promote fine arts, literature, research, culture and creative activities in an organized manner while providing writers and artists with an effective platform to showcase their abilities. He said the Department of Literature and Research had been reorganized to make it more active, organized and effective.
According to the announcement, Samina Qadir has been appointed Convener of the Department of Literature and Research; Professor Dr. Ahmad Ali Ajaz as Deputy Convener; Maryam Khan as Secretary; Professor Dr. Sher Zaman Simaab as Coordinator; Nighat Yousafzai as Joint Secretary; Feroz Khan Afridi as Secretary Research and Planning; and Hayat Iqbal Hayat as Secretary Public Relations.
Chairman Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai will personally oversee the department to ensure that its activities are carried out effectively in accordance with the association’s overall policies, constitution, aims and objectives.
Ahmad Nawaz said the Department of Literature and Research would work not only for the promotion and publication of literature but also for research, criticism, fiction, novels, column writing, academic dialogue, literary gatherings, seminars and conferences. Special initiatives would also be undertaken to encourage, guide and promote the abilities of emerging writers and researchers.
Chairman Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been a center of knowledge, literature and culture for centuries, and its writers had made significant contributions to Pakistani literature and culture. He stressed the need to preserve this rich intellectual and literary heritage while providing new writers with appropriate platforms, guidance and opportunities.
He congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers of the Department of Literature and Research and expressed the hope that they would perform their responsibilities with mutual consultation, unity and a spirit of scholarship, making the department an active, effective and prestigious literary and research force in the province.
Professor Sajjad Ali Orakzai directed the office-bearers to prepare an annual literary and research program, a future roadmap and a comprehensive plan of activities through mutual consultation and submit it to the central administration so that literary and research activities could be formally and effectively launched through the association’s platform.
He said that the Creative Art Association (Registered) would continue to bring together talented individuals from all fields of literature, art and culture and would play its role in highlighting the creative and cultural identity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the national level.
The newly constituted administrative team has expressed its commitment to providing a common platform for talented writers, researchers and emerging literary voices and to further strengthening and organizing literary and research activities across the province.
