PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Tariq Saeed Marwat chaired a meeting to review the law and order situation in sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ahead of the Chief Minister’s meeting on August 18.
Senior police officials, CTD, Special Branch and Regional Police Officers participated in the meeting. The security situation in Malakand, the newly merged districts and southern districts was reviewed, along with operational requirements and preparedness.
The meeting was informed about ongoing joint operations by the police and Pakistan Army against terrorists in Malakand. Marwat directed stronger intelligence-based measures, inter-agency coordination and preventive security arrangements.
He said protection of citizens, maintenance of law and order and countering terrorism remain key priorities of the provincial government.
