PROVINCE REPORT
PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah met with UNICEF Representative Pakistan, Pernille Ironside, and Radoslaw Rzehak, Chief of the UNICEF Field Office in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar.
The meeting highlighted the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s continued advancement in health, education, and protection of children across the province. Chief Secretary reaffirmed the province’s commitment to driving forward key initiatives in immunization, education reform, and child protection, while discussing avenues for evidence-based planning to support social development priorities.
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa underscored its ownership of, and commitment to, strengthening provincial systems and services for children and families, while UNICEF reaffirmed its role in supporting these government-led priorities.
Both sides commended the strength of the partnership, with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reiterating its resolve to advance its policy and programmatic agenda for children, and UNICEF pledging continued technical and programmatic support in line with the priorities of the province.
The two sides agreed to maintain close engagement in the period ahead, with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continuing to steer the direction of collaboration.
