PESHAWAR: The four papers of internationally acclaimed urologist, clinician, researcher and medical educationist Prof Dr Liaqat Ali have been accepted in International Conference in Urology (SIU) to be held in Edinburgh, UK, while two papers have been accepted in 42nd World Congress of Endourology and Uro Technology to be held in Arizona, USA without any government support, which shows his commitment to his profession that “Without research you are another person with an opinion.”
A press release states that Dr Liaqat Ali’s services are comprised of more than three decades. His dedication to serving the ailing humanity at the Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD), Hayatabad since 2007 is laudable, however, till date he has not been supported by the government or any office regarding his medical research and representing Pakistan globally, and without any encouragement and support, he did marvelous efforts in the field of medical sciences and presented a very soft image of Pakistan worldwide.
During the last 9 months, he attended 14 national conferences, did more than 1,100 complex surgeries, and attended 13,000 plus OPD cases. He also managed 1,050 patients in emergency. He along with his team of fellows, residents and undergraduate students made it possible to publish 25 articles since July 2024 in reputed national and international journals. This mega publication is due to fostering research ecosystem by initiating more and more collaborations, adds the press release.
The colleagues and people close to him have strongly recommended the KP and federal governments to encourage and support such talented and devoted medical professionals, so they may serve the ailing people with more energy and confidence, as government support is highly important for progressing the society.
