PROVINCE REPORT
PESHAWAR: An important meeting of the Peshawar Business Alliance regarding the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elections 2026–28 was held under the leadership of former KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali and former Provincial Minister Malik Mehr Elahi.
The meeting was attended by traders, business leaders and representatives from across Peshawar. A total of 85 candidates, including 60 from the Associate Group and 25 from the Corporate Group, were presented for the upcoming elections.
Haji Ghulam Ali welcomed the enthusiasm of the candidates and said the business community was uniting under the Alliance to bring capable and active leadership to the Sarhad Chamber.
Participants pledged to work for resolving traders’ problems and strengthening the Chamber as an effective representative institution. They also called for merit, transparency and unity, while seeking to end the long-standing monopoly in the Chamber.
The candidates and business leaders reaffirmed their unity and expressed determination to contest the elections under the Peshawar Business Alliance platform.
