PESHAWAR: The Bank of Khyber (BoK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Livestock and Dairy Development Department (Extension), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to facilitate a veterinary mobility scheme for unemployed veterinary graduates and diploma holders across the province.

Under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) project, the Livestock Department has allocated funds, while BoK will execute the scheme and provide interest-free, cost-recovery financing for customized motorbikes equipped with specialized medicine storage units.

The initiative aims to improve veterinary outreach in rural areas and enhance access to animal health services across districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The MoU was signed by Gul Buhar Khan, Group Head Retail Banking, BoK, and Dr Asal Khan, Director General Livestock, in the presence of Khurshed Khattak, Minister for Livestock, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. BoK Divisional Head Jawad Tajik briefed participants on the financing mechanism.

The initiative reflects BoK’s commitment to supporting economic opportunities for veterinary professionals and strengthening collaboration with the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
