PESHAWAR: A major crackdown against power theft has been launched in Town-II, where SDO Town-II Zia Ullah Khan, acting on the special directives of the AC and XEN, has taken strong action against illegal electricity connections.
According to sources, illegal meters, wires and complete track equipment being used for power theft were recovered from individuals during the operation. The action is part of an intensified campaign aimed at controlling electricity theft and protecting the national power system from illegal practices.
Power theft is not merely a violation of the law; it places an unfair burden on honest consumers who pay their electricity bills regularly. Illegal connections and unauthorized use of electricity contribute to line losses, voltage problems and load management issues, ultimately affecting thousands of law-abiding consumers.
The proactive measures taken under the supervision of SDO Town-II Zia Ullah Khan have been welcomed by residents, who said that strict and impartial action against power thieves is essential for improving the electricity supply system.
